Only six testified at the first of six public hearings on a local bill legalizing casino gambling on Saipan, and all of them said Tuesday night that they support the bill’s passage, mainly to help save the ailing economy.

Illinois: Gov. says gambling expansion plan ‘excessive’
SPRINGFIELD, Illinois — The challenge is not over yet for another Chicago casino, The Chicago Sun-Times reported. Gov. Quinn responding to the Senate’s approval of gaming legislation said the legislation is « excessive », the report explained.
