The only reason Yang even? got the chance to knock out Hilm was that Childs was an even bigger donkey than Yang and folded QQ on a minature flop.
About the 8d5d on a flop with two diamonds and a 5. It is a great hand. Any 8, 5 or diamond and the hand is improved. You can call it « bottom pair » but it is a monsterdraw. He should have checkraised all in on the flop however for better fold equity (Yang would be less pot commited) and better equity (draw has better equity on flop than uninproved turn)

I think Hilm played fantastic poker throughout the whole tournament! Really don´t think people should be making? rash assumptions based on one hand… Don´t know how jerry played earlier in the tourney because they don´t really show him until last 36 but from what i´ve seen Hilm is clearly superior. Lol « thank you god » and « hallelujah »… shut up you donkey!

Scotty got killed by Hilm, because he was playing out of position. In the hand (Hilm vs. Yang), Hilm also? played out of position, so he got what he deserved. I would have waited 10 hands after the 8,5 rags.

He played that 8-5 suited because that’s what he smoked Scotty with (for real). Plus, he probably thought he was about a coin flip before the turn. But going all in was quite poor.
Those hands did determine the tourney,? though.

I think Hilm knows what he was getting himself into. Which didn’t turn? out good for him. But yang was ahead on that hand. The only thing is not about who chases wins, it’s about holding the hand up wins.

on the flop is where hilm should ahve pushed. If Yang didnt have the ace of diamonds Hilm would have actually been the slight favorite with a flush draw and bottom pair. could have paired his other card, or got a set. He figured yang had AK? and if he pushed on the flop he may have layed it down
